Events Archive

A variety of mentoring workshops and events have been held over the course of the program to assist mentor pairs in achieving a successful relationship. Past workshops have been organized on Grantwriting, Leadership, Tips to Tenure & Promotion, Summer Planning, 3rd Year Review, Publishing in Peer-Reviewed Journals, and NSF and NIH Grantwriting, Assertive Communication, NIH for Dummies Workshop, NEH Humanities Workshop, Tips on Tenure & Promotion, Faculty Writing, Program Evaluation, Summer Planning, and Leadership.

At least two beginning-of-year Mentor Orientation sessions are held to allow mentors and mentees time to discuss and set goals for the Faculty Mentor Program, exchange CVs and review best practices.

In addition, networking lunches are provided throughout the year and at most events to facilitate discussion for mentors and mentees, with each other and with other faculty. Mentor pairs also meet independently a minimum of two times per semester.
